Who Are You Honoring This Memorial Day?

Each year when Memorial Day comes around I try to watch all the military movies (the ones based on history) that I have. I want to remind myself of the important reasons that the men and women of the armed forces have fought. And of the sacrifices they have made for our country, for you, and for me.

It saddens me when I see retail sales overwhelm the real significance of this day. A day to remember the lives lost, the lives forever changed by injury, the families who sacrifice time with their loved ones, and the families who wait eagerly for their safe return. How Forgiveness Saved Me

In order to understand how forgiveness saved me, you must understand the last four years of my life. Why I fell down a long dark hole and had to forgive before I could start the climb to freedom.

However, that’s overly simplified. In each cycle there are overlapping periods of interaction. It’s those moments that become the story of our lives and the memories that allow us to hold on to our mother’s forever.

A Mother’s Understanding is a Security Blanket

Ordinary everyday items can become a security blanket to children. For me, it was a blanket. My mother still has the remaining one-inch strip of fabric. For others, it’s a pacifier or a special stuffed animal, comfort comes in many forms. Continue reading “Hi Mom Happy Mother’s Day”

Welcome to my new website. Who am I? I’m a woman like you; struggling to: adapt to changes in life, persevere, take care of my family, and successfully manage day-to-day life, all the while attempting to improve myself. Over the last decade, I’ve learned from my failures and successes, from watching those close to me, and by listening to and learning from trusted mentors. I discovered that life has three essential parts.

Live Laugh Love

Live, laugh, and love is my new life philosophy. Embracing these three things has brought new joy and happiness to my life and I know it can for you too.
